Mr. Robert "Bob" Manley

FORT MEADE - Mr. Robert "Bob" Manley, 81, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2021 in Fort Mill, SC. Bob was born January 11, 1940 in Fort Meade, FL and was a lifelong Polk County resident until 2019, when he moved to Fort Mill, SC. He was a Certified Public Account for 55 years, and during that time he worked with the Polk County School Board accounting dept. Bob attended Fort Meade High School, Centenary College, and the University of Florida, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade. He loved to spend time with his family traveling across the country in his motorhome and spending time on the water in his boat.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John Kent Manley, Sr. and Gladys M. Lawrence Manley; brother, Kent Manley, Jr., and his sister, Carole Beasley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Manley, Fort Mill, SC; sons, Rob Manley (Marco), Atlanta, GA and Brian Manley (Kathy), Lakeland, FL; daughters, Cindy Ellis (Jay), Bradenton, FL, and Leigh Horton (Randy), Fort Mill, SC; sisters, Joy Polk (Richard, Sr.), Concord, NC, Mary Lou Brantley (Johnny), Frostproof, FL, and Gay Rose (Ronnie), Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Kara, Jason, Jacob, Lucas, Ella, Holly, Molly and Clare; one great-grandchild, Daisy; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
