FORT MEADE - Annie Laura McKinney, 93, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 in Lakeland, FL. Annie Laura was born February 19, 1926 in Daleville, AL, and moved to Fort Meade from Bowling Green, FL many years ago, where she was a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Meade. She was a book keeper for the Stuart family of Bartow, and the Gooch family of Goochland Nurseries, Fort Meade.
Annie Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Leavey A. and Ada Dixon Shirley; brothers, Homer "Rastus" Shirley, Loyd Shirley, and Bill Shirley; her sisters, Louise Cooper, Lillie Mae Alford, Bessie Cooke.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Coffee and husband Jerry, Bowling Green, FL; sons, Judson Clay Cardwell and wife Annette, Auburndale, FL, and Carrie Allen Cardwell and wife Penny, Moultrie, GA; brother, Charlie "Mack" Shirley and wife Kathryn, Fort Meade, FL; sister, Fannie Allen Spivey, Wauchula, FL; grandchildren, Jared, Jill, and Carrie James; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 from the graveside in Oak Hill Burial Park, Hwy. 98, Lakeland, FL with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating.
