FORT MEADE - Mrs. Audrey Armstrong, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 in Bartow, FL. Mrs. Armstrong was born Nov. 18, 1933 in Wimauma, FL, and has been a resident of Fort Meade for many years. She was a retired Pre-K teacher for the Polk County School Board, a 1951 graduate of Wimauma School, and a very active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Fort Meade where she served on the church altar guild.
Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her parents, Wilton Lee Holland and Martha Magdalene Stanaland Holland; first husband, Barry Branch; son, Allen Branch.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Armstrong, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Mike Branch & wife Jo, Michael Branch, Todd Branch and wife Jessica, all of Lakeland, FL; daughter, LeeAnn Barwick, Lakeland, FL; step-daughters, Barbara Bartle, Silverpoint, TN, Sue Bell, McMinnville, TN, Darlene Jones, Bartow, FL, Tracy Hamil, Bartow, FL; brothers, Clyde Holland, Perry, FL; E.G. Holland and Claude Holland, both of LaBelle, FL; sister, Wilda Clenney, Fort Meade, FL; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
