Mr. Carl R. Roberts

FORT MEADE - Mr. Carl Roberts, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Bartow, FL. Mr. Roberts was born September 1, 1929 in White County, TN, and has been a resident of Fort Meade since he was 18 years of age. He owned and operated the City Service Station and Gulf Service Station in Fort Meade for many years, and was a member of the Fort Meade Worship Center. Mr. Roberts loved to spend his spare time hunting and fishing, and also sharing stories with people of Fort Meade's past history.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Leola Bowen Roberts, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Donald Roberts and wife Terri, and David Roberts, all of Fort Meade, FL; daughters, Betty Radford, Fort Meade, FL, Susan Johnson and husband Philip, Mayo, FL, Carla Fort and husband Jason, Bushnell, FL; brother, Davis Roberts and wife Carolyn, Fort Meade, FL; sisters, Shirley Clancey, Belle Glade, FL, Rena Hoffman, Babson Park, FL, Flossie Orange, McMinnville, TN, and Mae Moore, Waverly, FL; eighteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dan Brockman and Rev. John Arrowood officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
