Mr. Carl R. Switzer

FORT MEADE - Mr. Carl R. Switzer, 60, passed away Friday March 23, 2018 at his home at the Florida Flywheeler complex in Fort Meade after fighting a hard battle with cancer. Carl never gave up his will to live, nor did he complain, but strongly kept his faith in God through his illness. He was born July 5, 1957 in Ithaca, NY and moved to Fort Meade several years ago from Charlotte, NC where he became a member and the caretaker for the Florida Flywheeler Engine Club in Fort Meade. Carl was also a retired commerical truck driver, member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Trumansburg, NY, member of the International Tractor Assoc., and member of the Goldwing Road Riders Assoc., where he served as the chapter director in Charlotte, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard F. and Rosalind Humiston Switzer, and brothers, Edward Switzer and Sam Switzer.
Carl is survived by his brothers, Glenn Switzer, Huntsville, AL, Lyman Switzer, Deland, FL; sister, Norma Wigden, PennYan, NY; good friend, Miss Pat who stood beside him through it all; his faithful companion "Buddy," and many other friends.
