Mr. Dale E. Matthews

FORT MEADE - Mr. Dale Edward Matthews, 70, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 in Bartow, FL. Dale was born September 3, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, and has been a resident of Fort Meade for 20 years. On visiting Fort Meade, he attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church as a young man, as into his adult years, he retired as a heavy equipment operator.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Frances Anderson Matthews; sisters, Anne Crews and Suzy Gregg; brother, Norman Matthews, Jr., sons, Phillip Matthews and Eugene Brown.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry Matthews, Chris Matthews, and Todd Matthews; brothers, Paul Matthews and Clark "Corky" Matthews, Sr.; sister, Darla Townsend; grandchildren, Alisha, Kabin, Courtney, Nora, Sierra, Brandon, Gauge, Gunner, Jackson, Derrick, Travis, Riley, Cade, and Knox; grteat-grandchildren, Gracelynn, Madalyn,Huntlen, Wyatt, Paxton, and Maci.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7th, 2022 in the Hancock Funeral Home chapel, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL.
