Doug Young

FORT MEADE - Douglas (Doug) Young, 48, was born December 3, 1967 in Bartow, FL and passed away January 30, 2016 at his home in Fort Meade.
Doug is survived by his parents, Ron and Carolyn Young, Fort Meade, FL; brother, Jason R. Young, New York, NY; and sister, Sarah E. Young, Fort Meade, FL.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bennie and Ruth Young, and maternal grandparents, Marvin and Selina Douglass.
Doug attended Fort Meade High School, graduating in the class of 1986. While attending high school he was an officer and very active in the Fort Meade FFA, and winner of the district tractor driving contest. Doug was a farmer and worked on his family farm in Fort Meade. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and worked as the sound person while attending two yearly mission tours with the church.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade with Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Buffum Cemetery, Fort Meade.
