BARTOW - Mrs. Edna Hazel Spink, 68, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at Winter Haven Hospital of heart failure. Mrs. Spink was born January 6, 1942 in Perry, GA and moved to Polk County, FL from Georgia in 1974. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She was a devoted mother to her eight children and countless others who considered her their mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Spink; daughter, Theresa Ann Spain; sons, Bert Allen Swords, Jr., Ricky Swords; sisters, Martha Gene Brown; brother Joe Lee Brown. Mrs. Spink is survived by her sons, David Swords, Bartow, FL, Michael Swords and wife Mary, Fort Myers, FL, Tommy Swords, Lakeland, FL, Richard Swords, Haines City, FL; daughter, Cheryl Swords, Bartow, FL; sisters, Nell Chapman, Kansas City, Missouri, Brenda Lammons, Macon, GA; brothers, Jerry Brown, Kansas City, Missouri, John Brown, Okeechobee, FL; 25 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 at the Cornerstone Church of God, Fort Meade with funeral services following at 3:00p.m. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
