FORT MEADE - Mr. Elbert (Bozy) Blackwelder, 72, passed away Sun., May 13, 2012 in Sebring of heart failure. Mr. Blackwelder was born in Frostproof, FL on Sept. 5, 1939 and moved to Fort Meade in 1979. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam, National Guard Finance Officer and also a contractor for All Types Aluminum. Mr. Blackwelder was a faithful and devoted member of the Cornerstone Church of God, Fort Meade, where he served as the church clerk for 25 years and also a leader of the "Prime Timers" adult group. He was a member of the Toastmasters and Rotary Club, graduate of Frostproof High School and attended both Florida Southern College and the University of Florida. Mr. Blackwelder was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ginger Blackwelder, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Eric Campbell, Arkansas, Thomas Long, Bartow, FL, B.J. Wood, Carrier, Miss., Charles Tucker, Fort Meade, FL, Herb Albritton, Lakeland, FL; daughters, Karen Campbell, Arkansas, Eva Bryant, LaBelle, FL, Carolyn Aldridge, Naples, FL, Shirley Chavis, Fort Meade, FL, Patricia Mathers, Bartow, FL, Darlene Team, Mulberry, FL and Angel Powella, Bartow, FL; brother, Larry Blackwelder, Frostproof, FL; twenty-one grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 10:00am - 11:00am, Thurs., May 17, 2012 at the Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S. Seminole Ave., Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am with the Rev.
