Eleanor L. Wagner

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Eleanor L. Wagner, 90, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in Brandon, FL.  Mrs. Wagner was born June 17, 1934 in Joplin, Missouri and graduated high school in 1951 in Moorehead, Iowa.  Soon after high school, she worked for the FBI as a clerk in Washington, DC, and then married her husband Glenn Wagner in Ashland, NE.  While finishing college and her teaching degree from Wayne State College in NE and living in Madison, NE, Mrs. Wagner and her husband Glenn owned a bowling alley. When Mrs. Wagner finished her teaching degree, she and her husband moved to Sandy, Oregon where she was a grade school teacher for many years.  After her retirement, Mrs. Wagner moved to Florida and has resided in Fort Meade since 2004.  She quickly became involved in the community and was a tutor with the Fort Meade Literacy Program, teaching English to minority students, and served on the board for the First Methodist School in Bartow, where she was also a member.   She later moved her membership to Christ Church Episcopal in Fort Merade, where she has been very faithful and active.  

     Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred L and Bernice Degood  Pry; husband, Glenn Wagner; son, Mitchell Wagner; brother, Robert Pry, and her adopted daughter in Fort Meade, Marjorie Flood Hancock  She is survived by her sister, Martha Macrander, and niece Janet Burris, both of  Oro Valley, AZ, nephew, Gerlad Macrander, Omaha, NE, and other nieces and nephew, Bob Pry, Debbie Pry, and Susan Despine. and locally survived by Allen Hancock and wife Helen, Chuck Hancock, and her friend and adopted grandson, Russell Hancock. 

     Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Christ Church Episcopal, 1 N. Cleveland Ave., Fort Meade, For those wishing to make memorial contributions, those donations may be made to Christ Church.
