FORT MEADE – Eric Augustus Henry, aka Teddy, was born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 27, 1950. He was the son of Myrtle Simpson and Joseph Henry, who both have predeceased him. Teddy was the only child, raised by his cousins identified as sisters and brothers: Blossom, Kitty, Babes, Norma, Tony, Mickey, Anton and Noel just to name a few. He transitioned to be with the Lord on November 5, 2023 at age 73.
Teddy attended Central Branch Primary School from 1954-1960 and went on to attend and graduated from Stratford High School in Kingston. At the age of 19, Teddy migrated to the United States to live with his mother, Myrtle and while living in Brooklyn, NY, had two children, RashedaHenry and Kimani Henry before he met and married Geraldine Henry. In their union, they had three children: Iisha Henry, Monisha Henry and Tyisha Henry. Teddy was a big family man and embraced Geraldine’s oldest daughter Calisha (Reed) Jones with open arms.
In 1984, Teddy started his career with Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter. He poured his heart and soul into his career and in his 20 years of service, he never missed a day of work. The company labeled him as an excellent employee and actually nicknamed him Mr. O.T.! After those 20 dedicated years with the company, he went into early retirement and spent much of his free time watching his favorite sport Soccer (which he used to play), Wrestling, Movies, News, Playing Texas Hold-em and he absolutely loved his horses.
Eric is survived by his loving wife Geraldine Henry, son, Kimani Henry, daughters, Rasheda Henry, Iisha Henry, Monisha Henry, Tyisha Henry and Calisha Jones (Steven Jones), 13 grandchidlren, and a host of great-grandchildren. There is also an abundance of family and friends that are deeply saddened by his passing, and will miss him more than words can say. He was a gentle giant who enjoyed family fun times and will forever be truly loved by everyone who knew him.
