FORT MEADE- Mr. Fletcher “Buck” Quinn, 76, passed away on June 20, 2022. Buck was born in Double Springs, Alabama to Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Borden Quinn. He settled in Fort Meade and made a life in the area. He served his country in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. During this time, he lived in various locations, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. After his time of service, he worked as a hydraulic mechanic servicing multiple industries, mostly phosphate. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Linda, relocated to Tennessee where they truly enjoyed time together and the greatness of God’s design. In Townsend, Tennessee just outside of Cades Cove, they operated an AirBNB, hosting guests from all over the world, and enjoyed getting to know them. He carried an admiration for classic cars, woodworking and travel. He was known to be the tour guide on all adventures, every trip was sure to be a memorable journey. Buck was a fun loving individual that was sure to “do you one better” if anyone played a joke on him. He had the biggest heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, as he was mechanically inclined and able to fix anything. He loved and admired his family, and cherished his valued friends.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Borden Quinn and Lois Vest Quinn; son, Shon Rollins; and brothers, Billy, Dewain, Darwin and Clark Quinn.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Linda Quinn; daughters, Kristie Quinn-Smith (Martin) and Amber Christen (Mike); seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Mitchell Quinn (Debbie); and sister, Patricia Montgomery.
A funeral service to honor the life of Buck will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Hancock Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:30am with
committal services to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Ft. Meade.
