FORT MEADE - Mr. Clarence Eugene "Gino" Commuso, was born January 1940 in Pinkneyville, Illinois to James Henry Commuso and Pansy Opal Taylor. Gino passed to be with our heavenly father on February 6th, 2016 in Lakeland, Florida at Lakeland Regional Hospital due to complications from a fall.
Surviving Brothers are Raymond, Lawrence(Larry), Charles (Chuck), and Carl Commuso. Preceded in death by his father James Henry and Pansy Opal as well as siblings James David Commuso (JD), Nellie Saddler, Pete, Gilbert Commuso
Gino is survived by His Loving wife “the Lil’ General” Vickie Lyn Durrance, of whom he adored and spoiled for the past16 years. His devoted and loving daughter Kathleen Maria Kolaczewski and Son-in-Law Richard Kolaczewski and beloved grandsons Brandon and Ryan. A son, whom admired and followed many of his life suggestions, James Henry Commuso and his wife affectionately named “Sweetpea” by Gino, Allison Rose Commuso. Most alike in personality and persistence, son, Robert Marshal and his lovely girlfriend, Lisa Welch. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Patricia Joan Rudolph, loving and caring mother of their three children and many other great family members, friends, fishing buddy’s, nieces and nephews all across the country.
Gino was a United States Marine with a 3-year tour of duty, in the 1st Marine Division.
He was a devoted long time employee of Wells/Castwell Products, in Skokie, Il. for 41 years, where he started pouring molten steel and worked his way up to Industrial Engineer. Gino was an incredible father, grandfather, friend, neighbor and husband. Gino will be sorely missed and never forgotten for his love of nature and survival. He was an avid fisherman and hunter for almost his entire life. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite driver #18 Kyle Busch and NASCAR. His favorite thing to do besides love and laugh was spoil his sweetheart wife Vickie Lyn. Gino, as he was known by most, loved his children and his friends and family with his acts of kindness and his affection showed mostly by his loyalty and willingness to volunteer to do anything, before being asked. Visitation will be held Saturday February 13, 2016. 9:00AM-10:30AM at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E Broadway, Fort Meade, FL 33841. Funeral services and a celebration of Gino's life will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will be held in New Hope Cemetery, Ft. Meade.
A Pot Luck Supper at The Commuso Home will be held after services until 5:00 PM
