FORT MEADE - Mrs. Glenda Gillispie Mullins, 77, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 in Lakeland of heart failure. Mrs. Mullins was the daughter of Samuel and Mabel Gillispie, Sr., and she was born June 7, 1936 in Fort Meade, FL where she resided her entire life. She worked for Badcock Home Furnishings in Fort Meade for many years, and also for Donald Duck Citrus Packing in Lake Wales. Mrs. Mullins was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church, Fort Meade and a graduate of Fort Meade High School, class of 1954. Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Mullins; son, Richard G. Mullins; grandson, Richard Anthony Mullins; brother, Sam Gillispie, Jr.; sisters, Olleita Mashburn and Teola Hollingsworth. She is survived by her daughters, Holly Rawlins and husband David and Cynthia McQuien and husband George Everett, all of Fort Meade, FL; son, Roderick Mullins, Miami, FL; brothers, Bill Gillispie and wife Jackie, Washington, GA, Charlie Gillispie and wife Donna, Interlachen, FL; sisters, Dora Smith, Washington, GA, Carolyn Swartz, Sun City Center, FL and Ruby G. Moody, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Shawn Moseley, Guy Mullins, Jennifer Hoye, Stephanie Hancock, Misty Smith, Darrel Mullins, Kimberly Mullins, Amy Wright, Angel McQuien and Amber Qureshi; sixteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S. Seminole Ave., Fort Meade with Rev. Jess Scarborough officiating.
