FORT MEADE - Mr. Harold B. Champion, 69, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 in Bartow, FL. Mr. Champion was born June 28, 1945 in Huntsville, AL and moved to Fort Meade from Arkansas 30 years ago. He worked for American Greeting Cards for many years, and later retired from Till Office Supply in Bartow after 30 years of dedicated service as their shipping and receiving clerk. Mr. Champion was a Supply Sergeant serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later in the U.S. Army Reserves, a graduate of Wilson High School in Wilson, Arkansas, and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Champion was a family man, as he loved to care and do things for all of his family in any way needed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Dula Champion, and his brother, Wayne Champion. Mr. Champion is survived by his loving wife, Charline Redden Champion, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Jimmy Stevens and wife Rena, Bartow, FL, Phillip Stevens and wife Lisa, Brandon, FL, John Champion and wife Amanda, Pocahantas, Arkansas; daughters, Connie Sue Stevens, Fort Meade, FL, Tina Ann Faultner and husband Ricky, Osceola, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kayleigh Stevens, Amber Loyd, Kirstin Lee, Taylor Dobbs, A.J. Champion, Brittany Lasater, Lauren Stevens, Andrew Stevens, Alex Stevens, Jared Stevens, Ryan Stevens, Hunter Peckinpaugh, Christopher Brasher, Jessie Champion, Jordan Champion; great-grandchildren, Colton Hunter Loyd, Piper Ann Lee, and Carson Sanderson; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Hancock Funeral Home chapel, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL with Clayton Frazier officiating.
