Mr. Harold J. Stark

FORT MEADE - Mr. Harold J. Stark, 88, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 in Lakeland, FL. Mr. Stark was born September 30, 1926 in Amsterdam, NY and was a resident of Fort Meade for many years. He was retired from Mobil Chemical Co. and also retired from the U.S. Armed Forces. Mr. Stark was a WW II U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, and later re-enlisted and retired from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Fort Meade VFW, member of the Fort Meade American Legion Post #23, and of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Stark was preceded in death by his wife Cassie B. Hinson Stark; sisters, Norma, Thelma, Geraldine and Dorothy; brothers, Richard and Kenneth; longtime companion, Eloise Smith.
He is survived by his daughter-in-love, Sandy Mincey, Fort Meade, FL; sisters, Shirley Skownek and Florence Kazala, both of Amsterdam, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 10:00am - 11:00am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Ronnie Mincey offiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Ft. Meade.
