FORT MEADE - Mrs. Hazel Cribbs Greer, 91, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Lakeland, FL. Hazel was born March 13, 1929 in Attapulgus, Decatur County, GA and has been a resident of Fort Meade for many years. She graduated Fort Meade High School in 1948, and was a retired member of the Teamsters Union of Dallas, TX working as a transportation employee in charge of bookkeeping and shipping/receiving. Hazel had a very strong Christian faith and loved people and spending time among her friends. She was a longtime volunteer and member of the Post #23 Fort Meade American Legion Auxiliary, and also worked for the City of Fort Meade as the City Mobile Home Park manager.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Henry Cribbs and Sarah Beatrice Chambers Cribbs; brother, Eddie Cribbs and sister, Marie Cribbs Cox.
She is survived by her loving husband, Adolphus H. Greer, Fort Meade, FL; daughter, Cynthia L. Pokrywa and husband Todd, Melbourne, FL; sons, Tony Greer and wife Angela, Winter Haven, FL and Eddie Rushing and wife Charlotte, Heath, TX; cousin, Wilene Pawley, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Samantha, Jonah, Conner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 with Fr. Anthony. Quinlivan officiating.
