FORT MEADE - Jack E. Logan, age 69, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was born October 24, 1948, in Elba, Alabama to Ben Logan and Willie Pearl Bass Logan. He moved to Fort Meade with his family as a child, and was a proud Fort Meade Miner, class of 1966.
Jack retired from Hardee County after serving as the Purchasing Director for more than 10 years. He was an avid sports fan, and practically a walking sports almanac. Most Friday nights you could find him in the stands cheering on the Miner football team, whether they were down the road or across the state. More than anything, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, because if you knew Jack for more than 5 minutes, chances are he made you laugh!
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Betty Collier and June Peacock, and his brothers Max and Wayne Logan.
Jack is survived by his wife Connie; his son Andrew Logan and wife Shari; daughters, Shelby Boller and husband Nathan, Candice Argo, Tiffany Taylor and and husband Jeremy; brother, Doug Logan; 13 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Hancock Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Michael McMillan officiating. The family asks, for those who wish and can handle wearing the Florida Gator orange and blue, to please wear your colors and support Jack's love of football.
