Janet Davis

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Janet Davis, 84, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Winter Haven, FL.  Mrs. Davis was born January 2, 1930 in Fort Meade, FL where she remained a lifelong resident.  She was a loving mother and wife, and devoted herself to making a home for her family.  Mrs. Davis was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Meade, member of Fort Meade Garden Club, Fort Meade Historical Society, and she was a graduate of Fort Meade High School, class of 1948.     Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Richard H. "Dick" Davis; parents, Francis L. and Lillie Mae Lindsey Davis; brother, Thomas Jefferson Davis; half-brother, Marshall Seigler; brothers-in-law, William L. "Bill" Davis, Jr. and Joseph E. "Joe" Davis, Sr.     She is survived by her sons, Richard L. Davis and wife Shelly, Fort Meade, FL and Robert P. "Sonny" Davis and wife Kimberly, Fort Meade, FL; sister-in-law, Audrey G. Davis, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Andrew Davis, Michael Davis, Brandon Davis, and Trevor Davis; great-grandchildren, Kelsi Davis and Jacob Davis; and several nieces and nephews.        Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, 118 N. Pine Ave., Fort Meade.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev.
