FORT MEADE - Mr. Jemmie Hampton Fields, 81, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022. Mr. Fields was born June 4, 1941 in Fort Meade, FL and moved to Bowling Green from Fort Meade in 1971. He was a maintenance mechanic, retiring from Mosaic after a long tenure of 48 years, and he was a member of the Wauchula Moose Lodge, and was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. Mr. Fields liked to hunt, fish, play pool, but most of all his joy was spent wood working where he made many items for his family to treasure into future years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jemmie H. Fields, Jr.; parents, Lawson James Fields and Oddie Walker Fields; sisters, Dorothy Fields, and June Brooks.
Mr. Fields is survived by his loving wife, Mary Louise Hanks Fields; sons, Joseph Henry Fields, and wife Dollene, Lawson James Fields, II and wife Cathy; daughter, Melinda Gevert and husband Paul, all of Bowling Green, FL; sister, Mildred Matthews, Maggie Valley, NC; grandchildren, Masqua Cartwright and husband Adam, Alan Michael Floyd and wife Samantha, Luke J. Fields and wife, Jayln, Destiny Fields, Emily Fields, Tonya Fields, J.J. Fields, Dylan Fields; four great-grandchildren, Daisy, Lila, Chase and Cooper.
