FORT MEADE - Mr. Jim Webb, 75, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home in Fort Meade, FL. Jim was born August 8, 1946 in Seymour, IN and moved to Fort Meade from Kokomo, IN in 1978. He entered the U.S. Army at an early age and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his military service he worked as a carpenter, mechanic, concrete man, and generally there was nothing Jim couldn't do. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of each trade with the younger generation to help them grow as young adults and he was a second father to many young people in Fort Meade. Jim was a member of the Fort Meade Worship Center, loved spending time with family and friends camping, and was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents R.S. and Jean Williams Webb; son, Richard Webb; grandson, Dylan Webb; great-granddaughter, Harlyn Helms; brother, David Webb; sister-in-law, Linda Webb; and also one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie C. Webb; sons, J.R. Webb, Shawn Webb and wife Chiquita, Brad Webb and wife Shivani, all of Fort Meade, FL; brothers, Charlie Webb, Kokomo, IN, Robb Webb and wife Madeleine, LeCaton, FL; sister, Betty Kirts and husband Bob, Freetown, IN; sister-in-law, Janice Webb, Kokomo, IN; 11 grandchilderen and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Dan Brockman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade with military honors being given.
