Mr. Joe D. Belcher

FORT MEADE - Mr. Joe D. Belcher, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his home in Fort Meade, FL. Mr. Belcher was born December 9, 1940, and was a native and life long resident of Fort Meade. He was a graduate of Fort Meade High School, and a volunteer fireman with the Fort Meade Fire Dept. for many years. Mr. Belcher was the owner and operator of B&B Electronics where he serviced electronic items and was faithful to his community, family and business even after his retirement. Mr. Belcher was a people person, and believed in helping anyone he could, and went above and beyond his call of duty. He loved to share many stories, and he also loved to share his love for God in his work and through his attendance and membership of Fort Meade First Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lehmon Lee Belcher and Addie Elizabeth Ellis Belcher; brothers, Junior Belcher, Mack Belcher, and Adolf Belcher.

Mr. Belcher is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Gail Belcher; sons, Vaughn Belcher and wife Leslie, Joe Michael Belcher and wife Leigh; daughters, Jan Belcher Grimes and husband Tommy, and Tammy Belcher Pope; brothers, Randal Belcher and Keith Belcher; sisters, Carol Douglas and Ruth Vaughn; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastors Randal Belcher and Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
