Joe Wyser

FORT MEADE - Joe Wyser, born December 3, 1946, in Wauchula, Florida, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 in Fort Meade, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade. In 1964, Joe graduated from Fort Meade High School where he met, and then married, the love of his life, Sherry. Their journey of love, marriage, and life was filled with lots of handholding, kisses and I love you’s. He loved his Fort Meade Miner classmates, Fort Meade Miner football, and class reunions. Joe enjoyed restoring his 1967 Stingray Corvette and cheering on his Miami Dolphins. Joe was a member of the Florida National Guard. He was a loan officer for Wauchula State Bank until he retired and moved to the mountains as soon as he could get there. 

Joe is preceded by his father Clyde G. Wyser, Sr and mother, Becky Wyser Williams, brothers Clyde G. Wyser, Jr and Willie M. Wyser and sister Elizabeth Wyser White.; parent in love, John D. and Martha Martin Hancock..  

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherry Hancock Wyser. Two daughters, Wendy Wyser Schipp and Amy Wyser Gargus (Daryl Gargus), sister Bobbie Wyser Townley. Grandchildren Anthony Roberts, John Gargus, Alexis Gargus, Berlyn Schipp and Ashlyn Schipp. 

The family will hold a visitation at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30am, with the funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL
