Mr. Joel Randal Barefoot

HOMELAND – Mr. Joel Randal Barefoot, 78, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Sylva, NC. Mr. Barefoot was born August 10, 1943 in Fort Meade, FL and was a lifelong resident of Homeland. He was a retired foreman with U.S. Agri-Chem and also worked with the Polk County Sheriff Dept. Mr. Barefoot was a graduate of Bartow High School and attended Victory Baptist Church in Bryson City, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lithia Barefoot, and brother, Arman Haines Barefoot.

Mr. Barefoot is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Barefoot; daughters, Donna Brooks and Carol McQuaig; grandchildren, Gavin Garrett and Daniel Hitt.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brian Schuler officiating, and interment will be in Homeland Cemetery.
