Mr. John P. Powers

LAKELAND - Mr. John Paul "J.P." Powers, 53, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his home. John was born December 27, 1961 in Evanston, IL and was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. He was a sales representative in the sand and gravel industry, and was of the Catholic faith. John attended Lakeland schools throughout his life, graduating from Lakeland High School, and then going on to graduate from Florida State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Mary Ellen Evans Powers.
John is survived by his brother, Joseph W. Powers, Houston, TX; sisters, Molly Horton, Alexandria, VA and Sara Powers, San Jose, CA; nieces, Grace Bray, Houston, TX, Deidre Pannehill, Panama City, FL; nephew, Jesse Horton, Alexandria, VA.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 in the chapel of Lakeland Funeral Home, Lakeland, FL.
