Johnny H. Collier

BARTOW - Mr. Johnny Hiram Collier, passed away Wed., May 11, 2011 in Auburndale, FL. Mr. Collier was born in Tiger Bay, FL on September 18, 1935, and he was a longtime resident of Tampa before recently moving to Bartow. Mr. Collier was retired from the United States Air Force where he was a member of the National Security Administration. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Collier also worked for Swift & Co., and he was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Collier was preceded in death on Apr. 4, 2011 by his twin brother, James N. Collier. He is survived by his wife. Collier, Bartow, FL; sons, Robert Lumibao, New Hampshire, James Lumibao, Barstow, CA; daughters, Diane Robinson, Indianapolis, IN, Joanna Embry, Sioux Falls, Idaho, Gina Booth, Lakeland, FL, Carrie Collier, Bartow, FL; brothers, Joe Collier, Fort Meade, FL, Gene Collier and wife Betty, Fort Meade, FL, half-brother, Wayne Brantley, Florida; sister, Valieda Padgelac, Bartow, FL; sister-in-law, Marcella Stokes Collier, Lake Wales, FL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Mon., May 16, 2011 from the Graveside in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade with Rev. Kenny Slay officiating.
