BOWLING GREEN – Mr. Joseph Milton Cochran was born March 9, 1944 in Bowling Green, FL where he was a resident for nearly his entire life. He passed away in Bowling Green, FL at his home on his 80th Birthday, March 9, 2024.
Milton, as he was known by many, was a retired Gulf Life and American General Life Insurance Agent. He also worked for a short time teaching in Hardee County Schools, and then before full retirement he was a Correctional Officer for the Hardee County Correctional Facility. Milton was a member of the Florida Cattleman’s Assoc., and a Christian who loved the Lord and his family; and he received that discipleship and training from his longtime church membership at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fort Meade.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Joseph Cochran and Virginia Swafford Cochran; brothers, Jack Cochran and Francis Cochran; grandson, Aaron Joseph Cochran.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Adams Cochran; daughter, Carmen Croy and husband Dale; sons, Charles Cochran and wife Ruby, Kevin Cochran and wife Suriany; sisters, Janice Waldee and Velma Hurst; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Scarleth, Matthew, Benjamin, Jacob and Joshua; grandsons; grand-daughters, Abigail and Olivia; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, McKinley, and Charlee; several nieces and nephews and close family.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6210 Mt. Pisgah Rd., Fort Meade, FL with funeral services following at 2pm in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
