Joyce Lightsey

FORT MEADE - Joyce Winnona McQuien Lightsey, 84, of Fort Meade, Florida, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Valdosta, GA. Mrs. Lightsey was born in Fort Meade, FL on May 19, 1935 to the late Charles and Alma Senterfitt-McQuien. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade.

Mrs. Lightsey was preceded in death by her loving husband John William “Jack” Lightsey, a sister Marjorie Jensen, and two brothers, Ronald McQuien and Drew McQuien.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lightsey Brady, and husband, Michael Brady of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Heather Kraudy and husband Matthew, of Midwest City, OK, Emily Brady and Mikey Brady, both of Valdosta, GA: her sisters, Mary McKinney of Bartow, FL, Katheryn Reeves of Fort Meade, FL, Florence Ann Pollard and her husband, Vince of Eagle Lake, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the current social and governmental health procedures of Covid-19, a private family burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade, FL, and a public memorial service will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
