Mr. Kermit S. Atchley

FORT MEADE - Mr. Kermit Samuel Atchley, 80, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Lakeland, FL. Mr. Atchley was born February 7, 1938 in Coffee County, AL and moved to Fort Meade in 2010. He was a citrus crew operator and northern agriculture harvesting crew leader, and of the protestant faith.

Mr. Atchley was preceded in death by his parents, Whirley E. and Bessie Mae Brooks Atchley; brothers, Eugene, Paul, Earl and Kenneth; sisters, Elsie Agnes and Louise; and niece, Denise Stuckey.

He is survived by his sons, Kermit Lamar Atchley; Martin Samuel Atchley; daughter, Sheila Wilson; brothers, Billy R. Atchley, and Jackie D. Atchley; sisters, Joyce Ann Ryan and Sarah Kennedy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. - 2 p.m. at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held from the graveside at 2:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade with Rev. Dirk Hoffer officiating.
