FORT MEADE - Mr. Leon McLeod "Mac" Lanier, 91, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home in Fort Meade, FL. Mr. Lanier was born December 28, 1928, and was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Meade, where he was a mechanic for over 40 years with Mobil Chemical Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamb Lanier and Shellie McLeod Lanier; brother, Dewey Lanier; and sister, Sarah Russell.
His is survived by his sons, Leon Lanier and wife Kathy, and Steve Lanier and wife Tina, all of Fort Meade, FL; Beverly Lanier and Sue, Brandon, FL; grandchildren, Lee Hamilton, Eric Durrance, Justin Lanier, Daniel Lanier and wife Randi, and Stephanie Laurent and husband George; five great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2020 with memorial services following at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating. It is requested that masks be worn, and guidelines of social distancing between applied.
