Mr. Leonard E. Northup, Jr.

FORT MEADE - Mr. Leonard Earl Northup, Jr., 68, passed away at his home in Yalaha, FL on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Leonard was born July 26, 1954 in Wauchula and has been a longtime resident of Yalaha, where he moved from Sumterville several years ago. He was not a man to sit idle and believed in hard work, instilled to him by his parents, and he stayed busy working as a licensed real estate broker, cattleman, farmer and a true entrepreneur. Leonard was the owner of his real estate business, Diversified Land Marketing Group, LLC, and in conjunction during his days he filled the occupation he held close to his heart of being a cattleman and farmer. It was through being a farmer, he worked long hours to grow blueberries and Florida peaches for his business, Shady Brook Peach & Blueberry Farms in Sumterville, FL. Leonard was and a 1972 graduate of Hardee High School, and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fort Meade.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Northup; parents, Leonard Northup, Sr. and Fern Northup; grandparents, John and Sena Waldee, and Iorn and Susie Northup; brother-in-law, Robert Smith.

Leonard is survived by his son Eric Northup, Sumterville, FL; his handpicked dauther, Chelsea Crespo and husband David, along with her children, Tripp, Finley, Dunn and Truitt, all of Oxford, FL; brother, Perry Northup and wife Melissa, Fort Meade, FL; sister, Linda Northup Smith, Fort Meade, FL; grandson, Landon Northup, Sumterville, FL; grand-daughters, Drue Dubon and husband Henry, Fullerton, CA, Alexandria Deweese and husband Dillon, Bushnell, FL; great-grandsons, Easton Deweese and Hux Deweese, both of Bushnell, FL.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6210 Mt. Pisgah Road, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Cook and Pastor Dwaine Willis officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations may be made in Leonard's memory to the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Fort Meade.
