Lois C. Ramsey

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Lois C. Ramsey, 79, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Athens, GA.  Mrs. Ramsey was born May 25, 1935 in Durham, North Carolina and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade, FL.  She was a homemaker and member of Cornerstone Church, Ft. Meade, where she the lead choreographer  for the church dance team and helped to make many of the church banners.     Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Dewey and Nettie Johnson Carden, and her husband Thomas S. Ramsey, Sr.    She is survived by her sons, Oscar A. Bennett and wife Angelika, David E. Bennett and wife Aida, Thomas S. Ramsey, Jr. and wife Tonya, all of Fort Meade, FL; daughters, Debbie Brown Allison and husband Daryl, Morriston, FL, Lois Johnson and husband Merle and Tootie Gammons and husband Joe, all of Fort Meade, FL, Cathy Kennedy and husband Stanley, Winder, GA; nineteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.     Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S. Seminole Ave., Fort Meade, FL with Pastor John Arrowood officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.       Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, FL  863-285-8171
