Mr. M. Mack Helms

RUSKIN - Mr. M. Mack Helms, 71, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Ruskin, FL. Mr. Helms was born May 16, 1945 in Homeland, FL and moved to Ruskin from Atlanta, Ga several years ago. He was an information systems specialist with IMC phosphate mines and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Helms was also an U.S. Army National Guard veteran; a member of the Bartow Jaycee's; member of the American Legion; member of the Egypt Shriners, Tampa, FL, and Past Master of Fort Meade Masonic Lodge #160 F&AM.

Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his parents, Barney Robert Helms and Juddie M. Helms, brother, Robert Helms, and sister Betty Meyers.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Helms, Ruskin, FL; sons, Feagan Helms and wife Deborah, Lakeland, FL, Chris Wingate and wife Christy, Riverview, FL; daughter, Heather Jackson and husband Larry, Lakeland, FL; brother, Rex Helms and Ray Helms, both of Fort Meade, FL; sister, Doris Tucker, Fort Meade, FL; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade, and inurnment will be held at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to the Fort Meade Masonic Lodge, 19 N.E. 6th St., Fort Meade, FL 33841.
