LAKELAND - Margaret Dotson Lindeke, 86, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Lake Wales, FL. Mrs. Lindeke was born September 10, 1935 in Fort Meade, FL and was the daughter of Cecil and Carrie Lightsey Dotson. She was a 1953 graduate of Fort Meade High School where she was a cheerleader and on the girls basketball teams, before furthering her education at business college. Mrs. Lindeke was a former Girl Scout leader in Fort Meade and also was affiliated with with her family in the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade, a longtime military wife, and went on to retire from Murphy Chevrolet in Bartow after working as their bookkeeper for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Lindeke was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Lindeke; brother, William "Billy" Dotson; and sisters, Betty Dotson Hill and Joyce Dotson Mullin.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Blasingame and husband Kelvin, and Pamela J. Lindeke all of Lakeland, FL; grandsons, Anthony Blasingame and wife Tiffany, Ethan Knowles, Jessie Blasingame & Samantha; one great grandson, Knox Blasingame; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
