FORT MEADE - Margaret C. Loadholtes, a beloved member of the community, passed away on May 17, 2024 in Lakeland, FL. She was born on May 23, 1932, in Tiger Bay, FL, to her parents Hubert L. and Alleen Hancock Collins. Margaret was known for her vibrant laugh and love of life and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
In her lifetime, Margaret accomplished many things that brought joy and support to those around her. She was a 1950 graduate of Fort Meade High School and attended Stetson University. She dedicated ten years of service as a Clerk for the Polk County Tax Collector's office. Additionally she previously volunteered at Lakeland Regional Health hospital for numerous years while also managing her role as a homemaker, caring for her husband and children.
Margaret's contributions extended beyond her professional and educational endeavors. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade where she served as a former Sunday School teacher and leader of the G.A.'s. Margaret also made an impact in the community by being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, as well as a former participant in the Fort Meade Woman's Club and Fort Meade Historical Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob Wade Loadholtes, and sister, Betty Jo. Margaret is survived by her loving family including her son Wade Loadholtes of Bartow, FL; daughters Linda L. McMahan & husband James and Alicia Sentner & husband Vince, all of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren Trey Loadholtes, Nathan Loadholtes, and Anna Sentner; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Margaret's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from the graveside at Hancock Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
