Marian Spieth Martin

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Marian Spieth Martin, 90, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 in Winter Haven, FL. Mrs. Martin was born March 15, 1929 in Fort Meade, FL where she was a lifelong resident before moving to Winter Haven in 2015. She was a homemaker and also worked as a legal secretary, and also worked for the Polk County School Board as a secretary at Riverside Elementary in Fort Meade. Mrs. Martin was very rooted in her Fort Meade heritage and attended the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade and Christ Church (Episcopal) of Fort Meade. She also was Valedictorian of the 1947 graduating class of Fort Meade High School, attended Stetson University, and a member of the Fort Meade Garden Club and Historical Society.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred K. Spieth, Sr., and Murray Durrance Spieth; husband, W.S. “Dutch” Martin; and brother A.K. Spieth, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Justin Martin and wife Niki, Winter Haven, FL; brother, Jim Spieth and wife Alice, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Alexa and Eva.
