Mr. Mark Allen Shepard

DOWAGIAC, MI – Mr. Mark A. Shepard, 69, of Dowagiac, MI passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Wauchula, FL. He was born November 27, 1951 in Dowagiac, MI where he was a lifelong resident, and the son of Harry and Charlotte Kauchus Shepard. Mark was an Industrial Electrical Engineer and Journeyman Electrician, and also enjoyed spending time as a private airplane pilot. He was a 1970 graduate of Dowagiac High School, liked spending spare time repairing aircraft for friends and whoever needed his assistance, and he was also trained and kept the Torco Racing Fuel’s private jet maintained for their use.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, John Hunsberger, and brother-in-law, Jack Kickert; mother-in-law, Donna Moulton; father-in-law, Cliff Moulton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cheri P. Shepard, Dowagiac, MI; son, Carson Shepard, Glendale, AR; sisters, Donna Kickert, Austin, TX, Sherrie Plourde, and husband Mike, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jase Shepard and Colten Shepard; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Kickert and wife Caryn, Tara Grace Kickert, Olivia Lyn Kickert, Lory Kickert and companion Wesley Beilski, Kelly Deronne and husband Dave, Libby Deronne, Brooke Deronne, Natalie Deronne, Ryan Plourde and wife Melanie, Ella Plourde, Charlie Plourde, and Samuel Plourde.

The family requests donations be made in Mark’s memory to the Dowagiac, MI Airport, PO Box 430, 241 South Front, Dowagiac, MI 49047; or to a local hospice or charity of one’s choice.
