FORT MEADE - Mrs. Mary Lucille Carnley, 98, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at her home in Fort Meade. Mrs. Carnley was born April 26, 1921 in Alabama, and has been a resident of Fort Meade for many years. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God in Fort Meade, a homemaker and raised her children, and also consistently staying busy working along side of her husband to help make a good life for her family. She was a very loving mother, and she loved the Lord, keeping her children in church, and she was a true blessing to each one of her children.
Mrs. Carnley was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Carnley; parents, Sidney and Annie Berria Downing; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Tomie Carnley, Richard Carnley and wife Gail, all of Fort Meade, FL, Frank Carnley and wife Joyce, Goldsboro, NC, and Royce Carnley and wife Kay, Auburndale, FL; daughter, Mary Ellen Carnley, Lake Wales, FL; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the New Beginnings Church of God, Hwy. 98, East, Fort Meade with Pastor Larry Barrentine officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
