FORT MEADE - Mrs. Mary C. Polk, 81, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 in Mount Airy, GA. Mrs. Polk was born April 2, 1936 in Ocala, FL and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. Along with her husband Monroe, she was the owner and bookkeeper for C.M. Polk Auto Parts, Inc. for 57 years, and a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and involved in many facets of the church. Mrs. Polk also was very community oriented, and was a member of the Fort Meade Chamber of Commerce, Fort Meade Woman's Club, and she was always an active member of several Fort Meade school Parent Teacher Organizations and Fort Meade Band Boosters.
Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clinton Monroe Polk, Sr., father, Wallace Camp, and mother, Pauline Camp Flora.
She is survived by her son, Clint Polk, Jr., Bartow, FL; daughter, Barbie Polk Davis and husband Joey, Mount Airy, GA; sisters, Jane Fleenor and husband Jim, Plant City, FL and Barbara Kerr and husband Jim, Hendersonville, NC; four grandchildren, Michael, Bethany, Naomi, and Hannah; and one great-grandchild, Cody.
Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Polk's memory to: Pruitt Health Hospice, 700 S.
