Mary Ellen Roberts

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Mary Ellen Roberts, 84, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Roberts was born on Sept. 30, 1928 in Dale County, AL, and moved to Fort Meade from Bartow in 1989. She was a homemaker and member of Lake Buffum Baptist Church, Fort Meade. Mrs. Roberts was also a member of the Fin and Feather Fishing Club, and she loved to spend time fishing and camping. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Frank Roberts, daughter, Rita Pam Dunham, son, Harold Ray Roberts, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Michael Angelo Roberts and Charles Roberts, both of Arcadia, FL, Ray Allen Roberts, Bartow, FL; son/grandson, Danny Ray Roberts, Fort Meade, FL; daughters, Olivia LeFaye King, Wauchula, FL, Patricia Gail Roberts, Winter Haven, FL, Brenda Gail Hill, Fort Meade, FL, and Nita Kay Roberts, Cape Coral, FL; brothers, Marvin Windham, Rafael Windham, Bascum Windham, Harvey Windham, all of Alabama; sisters, Jewel Harrison, Winter Haven, FL and Lenora Turner, Alabama; 21 grandchildren and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:00pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Fort Meade with Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
