FORT MEADE - Mr. Mitchell Kenneth Lamb, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Sebring, FL. Mr. Lamb was born April 17, 1928 in Bowling Green, FL and he remained a lifelong resident of the area, and he also stayed true to his early teachings of his parents and remaining of the Baptist faith. He was one of the Lamb Brothers of Lamb Brothers Construction , and they all worked together, as their business dealt primarily with land reclamation, the brothers oversaw many projects during work and after work hours. Mitchell and his wife Opal operated the Florida Orange Restaurant on Highway 17 in Fort Meade for many years, where the former Trailways Bus Lines made it's daily stops.
Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Emily Sylvester Lamb; and his wife Opal Lamb.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Bryan, Lakeland, FL; brothers, Emory Lamb and Ray Lamb, both of Fort Meade, FL; sister, Margaret Maddox, Wauchula, FL; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020 from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade, with Rev. Joe Parrish officiating.
