Mrs. Myrtice Whittington

FORT MEADE – Mrs. Myrtice Whittington, 92, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Bartow Regional Health Center. Mrs. Whittington was born, August 14, 1927 and has been a resident of Fort Meade. She worked for Ben Hill Griffin, Inc. of Frostproof as a citrus fruit sectionizer, she worked many years in the cafeteria of the FMHS and she also was the wife of the church pastor, being a very minor second job to her, but a very important role to those who she helped over the years with her encouraging words, prayers, and advice. Mrs. Whittington loved to cook for her family, her church family and friends, and anyone who was in need of food, along with and serving on her church board, as the church secretary and treasurer for over 40 years, and to tell others about the love of God.

Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.L. Whittington; son, Alan Whittington, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Jimmie Whittington and wife Sophia, Bartow, FL; five grandchildren, J.J. Whittington, Kevin Whittington, Michael Whittington, Todd, Whittington, and Christopher Whittington;\; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Wendy.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m., - 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Full Fellowship Gospel Church, 1795 Hwy. 17, South, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary, and interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Fort Meade.
