Myrtle Russ Williams

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Myrtle Olean Russ Williams, 89, passed away Sat., April 10, 2010 at the Rohr Home in Bartow, FL of heart failure. Mrs. Williams was born December 17, 1920 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a longtime resident of Fort Meade where she was retired from the U.S. Post Office after 25 years of service. Mrs. Williams was a member of Lake Buffum Baptist Church where she was very active in every aspect of the church. She was a graduate of Summerlin Institute, Bartow; member of the Fort Meade Post #23 American Legion Auxiliary; volunteer for Bartow Regional Medical Center and very active in Fort Meade community events. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husbands, P.W. Russ and Marvin Williams; grandsons, Richard E. Adams, II, Richard Lee Rhoden, Sr., and Larry Rhoden. She is survived by her sons, David Russ and wife Linda, Fort Meade, FL and Wesley C. Russ and wife Willene, Leesburg, FL; daughters, Margaret Carol Rhoden, Homeland, FL, Barbara Sue Orport and husband Rex, Sebring, FL and Ruth Fletcher, Bartow, FL; sister, Rosie Thornburg, Bartow, FL; Twelve Grandchildren; Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Mon., April 12, 2010 at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade.
