FORT MEADE - Mrs. Nellie Reed Cochrane, 87, passed away Wed., Feb. 3, 2010 at her home of heart failure. Mrs. Cochrane was born November 30, 1922 in Howell, Michigan, and moved to Fort Meade from Wauchula in 1951. She was a homemaker, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Meade. Mrs. Cochrane always stayed involved in community activities, and she loved to work with children. She participated and helped mentor children in the Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and particulary the Fort Meade FFA. Mrs. Cochrane was preceded in death by her husbands, John Franklin Moseley, Jr., and Thomas A. Cochrane; son, Ronald Moseley, daughter, Johnnie Sue Gooch; brothers, Tony Reed, Zur Reed, Mahlon Reed sisters, Lauretta Crichfield, and Dorothy Hand. She is survived by her son, Richard Cochrane and wife Karen, Fort Meade, FL; daughter, Lucinda Selph and husband Jim, Arcadia, FL; sister, Alyne Metcalf, Lake Wales, FL; Grandchildren, John Moseley, Marc Moseley, James Selph, John Selph, Kent Gooch, Jr., Brian Cochrane and Christopher Cochrane. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Fort Meade, with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
