LAKELAND – Mrs. Patricia Ann Walker, 82, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 in Lakeland, FL. Mrs. Walker was born April 10, 1938 in Zolfo Springs, FL and was a resident of Englewood, FL for 18 years before residing in Lakeland. She grew up in Fort Meade where she lived for many years and graduated from Fort Meade High School in 1956, and later worked and retired from the Polk County School Board as the Title 1 Supervisor. She was a member of Scott Lake Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL and was a former longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. Mrs. Walker was always very active in each of the churches she attended with her of playing the piano and her singing voice. She always worked closely with many church music directors through the years and enjoyed being a leading part and sharing God’s love through music to the church’s congregations. She was also a very active in her communities planning and directing weddings and was a member of the Bartow Performing Arts school.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, John Abner Baker, Sr. and Ouida Howze Baker; grand-daughter, Karen Denise Walker; and brother-in-law, Wayne Cochran.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert M. Walker, Lakeland, FL; son, Bobby Walker and wife Carol, Fort Meade, FL; daughter, Cindy Morris and husband Steve, Atlanta, GA; brother, John Baker and wife Julie, Fort Meade, FL; sisters, Judy Cochran, Brenda Ashe and husband Raymond, all of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Robby Walker and wife Dawn, Raleigh, NC, Regis Wilmot, Ryan Walker Easler and wife Caroline, all of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zakery, Justin, Conner, and Emery.
Private family services will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade, FL.
