JACKSONVILLE, FL - Mrs. Pauline Moon Hughes, 79, passed away Fri., Oct. 7, 2011 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Hughes was born in Wauchula, FL on March 7, 1932 and moved to Jacksonville from Avon Park, FL in 2003. She was a home healthcare giver and a homemaker. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Lake Wales Seventh Day Adventist Church, she participated faithfully with her church prayer partners and known by her family as a great prayer warrior. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hughes; daughter, Janice Jones; brothers, Paul Moon, Calvin Moon, Bill Moon and Allan Moon; sisters, Juanita Dobson and Mary Johnson. She is survived by her son, Richard Hughes, Cherokee, NC; daughters, Karen Hughes, Avon Park, FL and Tina Butterfield & husband Richard, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Gene Moon and wife Rebecca, Fort Meade, FL; sisters, Sue Gilman and Dot Bullington, both of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Shawn Ewing, Ryan Butterfield, Courtney Jones & wife Crystal, Andrew Jones & wife Kelly, Jonathon Hughes; great-grandchildren, Paige Claxton, Shelby Jones and Annalise Jones; and multiple nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:00pm - 8:00pm Fri., Oct. 14, 2011 at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Sat., Oct. 15, 2011 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fort Meade. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
