Mr. Ray Davis

FORT MEADE - Mr. Ray Davis, 76, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 in Lakeland, FL. Mr. Davis was born March 7, 1940 in Bowling Green, FL and has been a resident of Fort Meade for many years. He was an Inspector and Consultant for the Florida Dept. of Transportation and a book keeper. Mr. Davis was a member of the Bowling Green Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, song leader and adult Sunday School teacher; a 1958 graduate of Hardee High School; and a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Davis and sister, Joyce Swails.
He is survived by his sons, Alvie Davis and wife Bridgett, Lakeland, FL, and Joe Davis and wife Barbie, Mount Airy, GA; brothers, Gerald Davis & wife Wynell, Wauhcula, FL, Harold Davis, Bowling Green, FL, Troy Davis and wife Barbara, Lakeland, FL, Gene Davis and wife Judy, Bowling Green, FL; sister, Evelyn Davis, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Bethany, Noah, Kaitlyn, Naomi and Hannah.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday at the First Baptist Church, Bowling Green, FL with Rev. Harold Davis officiating. Interment will be in Bowling Green Cemetery.
