FORT MEADE - Mr. Robert Payson "Sonny" Davis, 55, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Sebring, FL. Sonny was born October 2, 1964 in Lakeland, FL and was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade. He was a security guard for Allied Security at the Nuccor plant in Frostproof, FL, a member of the New Beginning Church of God in Fort Meade and after his high school graduation attended Southeastern University, also receiving a degree in Hotel Management. Sonny loved music and was very active in the church music program and sharing his voice with others, both as a soloist and in the church choirs. He was a man that enjoy being around people and making others around him smile with his laughs and huge grins, always wanting to help others.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. "Dick” Davis and Janet Davis; maternal grandparents, Francis L. and Lillie Mae Lindsey Davis; paternal grandparents, William Lamar Davis and Ivelo Davis; uncles, Thomas Jefferson Davis, Marshall Edward Seigler, William L. "Bill" Davis, Joseph E. "Joe" Davis, Sr., and most recently, his first cousin, Christopher Blake Davis.
Sonny is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Davis, Fort Meade; sons, Brandon Davis, both of Fort Meade, FL, Trevor Davis and fiance, Alina, Bartow, FL; brother, Richard L. Davis and wife Shelly, Fort Meade, FL; aunt, Audrey G. Davis, Fort Meade, FL; mother-in-law, Pat Mulkey, Winter Haven, FL; father-in-law, Dwight Mulkey, Auburndale, FL; sister-in-law, Kerrie Anderson, Auburndale, FL; cousins, Paul Davis and family,Narrangansett, RI, Jimmy Davis and family, Fort Meade, FL, Ed Davis and family, Valrico, FL; nephews, Andrew Davis, Michael Davis, Brandon Davis, Trevor Davis, Kelsi Davis and Jacob Davis; several other cousins, extended family members, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade with Pastor Larry Barrentine officiating.
