Mr. Robert W. "Woody" Smith

FORT MEADE - Mr. Robert W. "Woody" Smith, 66, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 in Lakeland, FL. Mr. Smith was born January 5, 1954 in Bartow, and was a lifelong Fort Meade resident, where he was a graduate of Fort Meade High School, class of 1972 and a member of the Fort Meade FFA and FFA Band. Following his high school graduation he began work with Swift and Co., and went on to retire recently from Mosaic as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Smith loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, making knives; and was a faithful and active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Fort Meade, and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bob" Smith and Wanda Dishong Smith; grand-daughter, Sheyenne, son-in-law, John Bourn, brother, Lindsey Smith, sister-in-law, Lou Smith, and nephew, Shane Langston.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, Linda Northup Smith, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Travis Robert Smith, Fort Meade, FL, Chad Eric Smith and wife Amanda, Covington, GA; daughter, Amber Bourn Matthews and husband Bobby, Fort Meade, FL; sister, Vivian Langston and husband Skip, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Ali Albert, Jacob Smith, Gracie Smith, Hunter Bourn, Brooke Bourn, Colten Bourn, Eli Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6210 Mt. Pisgah Rd., Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastors Dwaine Willis and Joey Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
