FORT MEADE – Mr. Spencer L. Adams, 84, passed away January 6, 2018 in Bartow, FL. Mr. Adams was born August 18, 1933 in Fort Meade, FL, where he remained a lifelong resident, graduating Fort Meade High School in 1951 and later raising his family. He was a retired maintenance supervisor and planner for IMC Fertilizer Co., a United States Coast Guard Korean War veteran, and of the Pentecostal faith.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence O. and Louise Cooner Adams; step-mother, Mary Senterfitt Adams; brother, Richard Adams; sister, Marilyn Adams Turner; and his loving wife, Frances Stevenson Adams.
He is survived by his son, David Adams, Fort Meade, FL; brothers, Edward Adams, Arcadia, FL, Deleon Adams, Zolfo Springs, FL, Lawrence Adams, Chipley, FL; sisters, Zelda Harrell, Zolfo Springs, FL, Carolyn Long, Melbourne, FL, Virginia Cochran, Bowling Green, FL, Linda Quinn, Bartow, FL; grandchildren, Megan Atkinson and husband Trevor, Winter Haven, FL, and Caitlyn Adams, Auburndale, FL.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday January 11, 2018 in the Hancock Funeral Home Chapel, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL, with Rev. Joe Parrish officiating.
